This Friday, November 1st, due to the celebrations for the Day of the Dead, the Hoy No Circula program will be implemented in Mexico City and surrounding municipalities in the State of Mexico. Vehicles with blue stickers and license plates ending in the digits 9 or 0 will not be allowed to circulate. However, those with hologram 0 and 00 are exempt from this measure. Foreign vehicles must adhere to restrictions according to the ending of their plates.
If your vehicle has a hologram 1, you will not be able to circulate on the second and fourth Saturday of the month if your plate ends in an even digit, or on the first and third Saturday if it's odd. If the hologram is 2, you cannot circulate any Saturday of the month. The restrictions apply from 5:00 AM to 10:00 PM. In the State of Mexico, municipalities such as Atizapán de Zaragoza, Coacalco de Berriozábal, and Cuautitlán, among others, are also subject to these measures.
These restrictions also apply in all boroughs of Mexico City, such as Álvaro Obregón, Azcapotzalco, and Benito Juárez. The Hoy No Circula program has complementary provisions that exclude certain vehicles, such as agricultural tractors, motorcycles, electric vehicles, and those with the hologram "EXEMPT". The measures aim to reduce pollution and improve air quality during these festive days.
